Victor J. Contrucci Outstanding Service Award
For the sixteenth year, the Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities will award the Victor J. Contrucci Outstanding Service Award. This award recognizes an individual who has provided exemplary service on behalf of children with developmental disabilities and their families. This person has demonstrated high professional standards, leadership, and extraordinary effort above and beyond what is normally expected or required. As a result, the lives of children with disabilities, their families and their communities are improved and enhanced.
The award recipient has contributed in one or more of the following areas:
- Teaching
- Counseling
- Psychology
- Parenting
- Volunteerism
- Direct Support Work
- Advocacy
- Legislation
- Program Development
- Research
- Administration
During his thirty-nine years of service to children with developmental disabilities, Victor Contrucci worked as a teacher, psychologist, state programs supervisor, Assistant State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Birth-to-Two Advisory Council offi cer. Mr. Contrucci served on the WCDD for over twenty years. In his later years, he was a parent, grandparent, and guardian of individual with exceptional needs.
