This series of issue papers addressed the obstacles of the current service system, describes innovative options in designing and funding Supported Parenting services for families, and identifies strategies for improving communication and coordination among agencies. These papers contained guiding principles and useful ideas for planners and service providers who are interested in supporting families headed by parents with cognitive disabilities. - Caleb's Story (2006) This video is being distributed by the Wisconsin Healthy & Ready to Work Project. This 11-minute video developed in partnership between the Waisman Center, the Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities, and Disability Rights Wisconsin. It highlights the community experiences of a young man, Caleb, with very involved health, cognitive, and physical disabilities. The video examines a nontraditional approach to work, home, and community living. DVD and VHS format: DVD $20, VHS, $15. The result was their analysis of the current systems affecting people with disabilities and their concerns for the future. - Next Steps: A guide for families new to autism (2002) This booklet is no longer available from the WCDD. It and other autism publications are available on-line from the Autism Society of America. This 8-page brochure provides the reader with a general understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders, an overview of the various treatment options, and brief information about education and services that are helpful to children and adults with autism.

- Tips for Portraying People with Disabilities in the Media (1992) This brochure is no longer in print and not available from WCDD or Easter Seals. The National Easter Seal Society wrote and printed this brochure to assist the media in better portraying people with disabilities in the media using people first language.
- Visits to the Doctor: A Guide for Parents (1996) This publication is no longer in print and is available on-line only. This small booklet provides parents of a child with a disability helpful suggestions for working with medical professionals in order to access quality care for their child. It includes helpful checklists for families to track contact with medical professionals. Please note that the resource list of agencies and organizations at the end may contain old contact information.
- Wage and benefits for Wisconsin Direct Support Workers: Findings of a statewide study (2003) This publication is no longer in print and is available on-line only. This booklet presents the findings of a study commissioned by the WCDD and the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services regarding the wages and benefits of direct support workers in Wisconsin. Solutions and recommendations are presented.
- Waiting for Family Support (2001) This booklet is no longer in print and is available only on-line. This booklet told the story of ten families with incredible spirit, courage and potential. The stories describe the challenges they face and what life is like while on waiting lists for Family Support Program.

This report revisitd the 1989 Work Force 2000 report regarding the issues pertinent to direct service workers in the community. Updated information was presented and analyzed along with conclusions and recommendations.
- You Can Make it Happen!: A Guide to Wisconsin's Services for Young Adults with Developmen (1990) This publication is out of print and is no longer available. This guide was for students making the transition into the community. It acquainted the reader about his/her basic rights and responsibilities, and the resources available in the community.
